I’m doing a whole bunch of driving on my trip, if I cut you off or am otherwise driving obnoxiously – I’m sorry, it’s nothing personal
thanks for checking out the site though

So far, I’ve been in Albany, Montreal, Toronto, Buffalo, Dayton, Indianapolis, and Chicago. I’ve been moving pretty quickly up until now so I’m spending a few days here in Waukesha, Wisconsin with Liz and Troy.
My arms are nice and sore from the rock climbing yesterday and I’ll get something uploaded from that soon. Milwaukee is twenty minutes away and we’re trying out a place called The Safe House tonight.
Pictures are up from Chicago and Indianapolis if anyone’s interested.
I have enough videos that I can start throwing something together.
I’m sitting at the Starbucks on Broad Ripple in Indianapolis, Indiana and going to Chicago in a little while.
This Starbucks is part of what got this trip going, and I’m sure they have no idea.
I have many more pictures, but the drive to Chicago is a bit long, and I wanted to get something here before I got going.
One more time:
something about being here started me along this trip, and they are completely unaware.
…to where I feel like this is going.
my twitter client stopped working on my phone, so I’ve disappeared for the day
adding Buffalo back to the list
so how about:
Buffalo tomorrow morning/afternoonish (Babies!)
Dayton Saturday night (late) (Ali)
Indianapolis Sunday (GraceGrace)
Chicago Monday for a Jamieing and onto Waukesha (ninjaLiz)
A rugby ball cloud of smoke maintains its shape from a freshly-lit cigarette. “Bonjour.” “Hello.” And the ball floats for 3 full counts before coming apart in the air between me and the spiral staircases attached like fire escapes to every house. I hadn’t noticed until Anja pointed them out, and now I walk down each street mesmerized, tripping over a thousand bicycles.
I drive twohundredsomething kilometers staring at the color of fall and geography, unbothered by the rain—I haven’t taken a single photo.

but I have taken a few videos. here is on the way into Montreal (complete with stupid face intro):
{i tried to post this last night, so i’m backdating}
Ariella: I thought you wanted to be in bed at 11
Me: I did
Me: still do :/
we’re skipping breakfast for dinner so I get to leave a little later.
Goodnight people I won’t see for a while, home, and everyone inside. I’ll miss you.
7am tomorrow, I’m stopping at Starbucks to have them fill my mug for my drive to Coxsackie where I’m having breakfast with Jenn before heading over to Albany. I’ll spend Sunday night in Albany with Chris, and I’ll be in Montreal Monday afternoon until Wednesday morning when I’m going to Toronto for 2-nights. I leave for Dayton from Toronto on Friday morning and I’ll be there until Saturday night when I make the quick drive over to Indianapolis.
i leave at 7am tomorrow morning, and aside from a few stray things around my room – a box to pack for storage, a bag of clothes to donate, my rug, rolled up and ready to be thrown out – my room consists of a mattress in one corner and a giant duffel in the other.
at first, i thought to throw my bed away. i’m 6′ tall and 26 years old, and i’ve had that bed since i was 3, but my dad made it, and something about throwing it away just isn’t right, so we put it into storage along with a massive 1970s or ’80s era wall-unit (complete with built-in tape deck) and a whole bunch of boxes.
packing a duffel for a 3 month long road trip and moving from the house i grew up in (i think i’ve grown up) reminds me of how much stuff we accumulate as maybeoneday. at the same time though, am i overdoing it with how much i throw out? i think i’ve been pretty good about keeping some random trinkets like report cards (edward is a pleasure to have in class, but has trouble concentrating on one task and finishing assignments or edward is conscientious and creative, but needs to work on focusing and handing in assignments on time repeated on almost every single one), photos, and other stuff i might enjoy looking at one day, but i’m sure there’s probably way too much junk in those boxes.
a 6 mile, unmarked hike through the desert to find the wave might be very necessary.
i’m listening to metro station’s “shake it” and taking everything in my room apart.

the desk stuff is downstairs by the door now and i’m in the reading chair updating from the corner in that picture
